Flexible packaging is on the rise in India.

With a strategic focus on the high-growth market in India, Amcor has purchased Uniglobe, a flexible packaging business located in the subcontinent, for $20.8 million. According to Amcor, Uniglobe is strongly aligned with its existing business, servicing large multinational customers within the food, personal care and health care markets; Uniglobe generates annual sales of more than $20 million. Current management will remain with the business, and Amcor says the expanded management team will play a key role in supporting future growth in the country. Amcor now maintains five packaging manufacturing sites in India.
